The Trail

On the banks of the river a little girl is having a tea party with her teddies. It seems Miss D’Jeck has been having a lovely time playing in the river, as everyone has been chasing around trying to find her. “Where is she now” asks Maurice.

The girl explains that on catching sight of a pitchfork in Smail’s window, Miss D’Jeck had been frightened and had run around the town to try and find a safe place to hide.

She ended up at High Stanners before making her way up to Edinburgh where she has some friends in the zoo. Nobody believes the girl’s story, least of all her Mummy who arrives to take her back to school. However, yet again, there is evidence…
